Wherever you look around, you will find several things that are beneficial for the mind and body to some extent. Wellness vacation, wellness products – the simplest items and services should all at once ensure better well-being. Do you think so?

Wellness is not a protective term in the US; everyone is free to market their product as such. Who is it that is surprising that wellness has become a popular advertising word in the meantime? Socks, tea, muesli, jam, mineral water, or dietary supplements: Many normal consumer products like to get an “upgrade” in this context. What about the massages and therapies for relaxing the mind, body, and soul?  That means the wellness stamp includes a decent price increase and a marketing strategy hype. This does not only apply to products, but also to hotels, fitness centers, and vacation trips organizations. What do you think of a vacation in an exclusive wellness spa & wellness hotel? Find out right here, otherwise, you will end up in an overpriced hotel, and other places for your wellbeing.

The Real Thought Behind the Word “Health & Wellness”

If you are really interested in wellness, you have to look behind the scenes. Since the original idea contained much more than the marketing and distribution of the corresponding consumer goods, the term was first mentioned in 1654 in the Oxford English Dictionary as a weakness. Around 300 years later, in the 1970s, the US doctors Donald Ardell and John Travis developed the first concept of a holistic health and wellness model under this term, the central pillars of which were the personal responsibility of each individual for their own body and disease prevention.

In relation to the American Wellness Association, Dr. Ardell defines wellness as “a philosophy of life: striving for more quality of life through a conscious, disciplined lifestyle.” A philosophy in which one is continuously happy about one’s own existence, one’s body, and one’s work. Those who live this philosophy do not need so-called wellness products!

Laughter Yoga – Just Relax

“Laughter, precisely, is not only a psyche exercise but also a physical exercise consisting of great health value” – Aristotle already knew. The proverbs “Laughter is healthy” and “Laughter is the best medicine” are well known in the vernacular. In the meantime, the global trend of laughter yoga continues to gain popularity in the USA.

Laughing for No Reason

Laughter yoga involves laughing, that much is clear. But how do you have to imagine a laughter yoga class? It’s about laughter, the liberating laughter that comes out from within. In laughter yoga, however, the course leader is not in the front and tells one joke after the other. In the beginning, there is an artificial laugh. This pretended laugh should then turn into a real one. Of course, you also work here with various aids that should make it easier to laugh: breathing and stretching exercises, clapping, pantomime, or mind games.

Origin of Laughter Yoga

The most famous representatives and founders of the Laughter Yoga movement include Madan Kataria and his wife Madhuri from India. In 1995, they founded a laughing club that now has over 6000 clubs worldwide. Originally, however, it was the American (science) journalist Norman Cousins who, due to a serious and painful illness, tested the effects of laughter yoga in self-experiments and felt its immediate success.
